Hey there, flight sim enthusiasts! The aviation sim world just got a whole lot cooler with the release of our B727-200 Freighter. This classic cargo plane has been a fan favorite for years, and now you can fly it in Microsoft Flight Simulator. Let's dive into what makes this plane so special.
First things first, the Boeing 727-200 is an old-school legend. It hit the skies back in the 60s and quickly became a go-to for airlines. The freighter version, which hauls cargo instead of passengers, is known for being tough and reliable. Even today, a few of these bad boys are still flying around, carrying all sorts of goods. You can check out some interesting operations on YouTube, such as those by Aerosucre and Astral.
Stunning Visuals: This plane looks amazing in the sim. Every detail, from the outside to the inside cockpit, is handcrafted. You can even check out the cargo bay. It's like having a real 727-200 in your hangar with this old feel and smell.
Multiple Navigation Options: You can go classic and use our feature-rich CIV-A INS, including drift simulation and DME position updates, to recreate the old days of flying. Or, you can take the modern route and use the GNS530 by Working Title, the PMS GTN750, or the TDS GTNXi.
Functional Flight Engineer Station: You can control everything yourself on the FE panel. In fact, you have to operate the aircraft properly. Sync the GEN frequencies, set up the pressurization, and monitor the hydraulic pumps. Also, correctly set up the fuel feeding. It gets busy!
Immersive Sounds: You can hear the roar of the engines, the hum of the systems, and all the other noises that make you feel like you're really there. It's immersive and includes special sounds like the cargo door operation, opening windows, packs and pumps, and more.
Easy Handling: No worries, you don't have to split yourself into three to operate this aircraft. We added the crew manager to help you run your checklists and monitor systems automatically, just like your FO and FE would do. However, if you want to challenge yourself, you can turn them all off and see where you end up.
Since its preview at FSExpo, the 727 has been getting a lot of love. People are loving the flight dynamics, the detailed visuals, and the immersive experience. It's a hit with both hardcore simmers and newbies alike. Plus, it's bringing a lot of attention to classic planes, which is always cool. A big shoutout to our real pilots and flight engineers who helped us a lot during development, and to the testing crew that flew hundreds of hours upfront to test everything so you can have a smooth flight.
Currently, the add-on is available at Aerosoft. Other shops like Contrail, Simmarket, etc., will follow 1-2 weeks later. To install the aircraft, you will receive a serial key that can be used in the installer applications Aerosoft One and Contrail, regardless of where you purchased it.
