E-Jets Update 0.9.31 available

Written by Team FSS | Aug 27, 2024 9:47:38 AM

Have you been feeling a bit nostalgic with our 727 lately? Now it's time to dive into the modern world of E-Jets. Because the next update is already waiting for you. This time, we've got a few important things in store.

Cockpit Coloring

Many of you have pointed out that the current cockpit textures are missing a certain bluish tint. Together with real pilots from our beta group, we've fine-tuned the color scheme.

GPWS

A long-standing missing feature was the GPWS, which we have finally implemented. First, we replaced the radio altitude callouts with a new logic. We have also simulated all priorities for aural warnings, from lowest to highest. All modes have functions with values from the Honeywell manual:

  • Mode 1 (sink rate, pull up): simulated
  • Mode 2 (don't sink): simulated
  • Mode 3 (terrain, terrain, pull up): partially simulated -> waiting for custom terrain logic
  • Mode 4 (too low terrain/gear/flaps): simulated
  • Mode 5 (glideslope): simulated
  • Mode 6 (bank angle, approaching minimums, minimums): simulated
  • Mode 7 (windshear): not simulated yet

Mode 4 can be turned off by pressing FLAPS INHIBIT buton on pedestal for flaps and GEAR INHIBIT for gear. Mode 5 can be turned off by pressing G/S INHIBIT on the main panel. Radio altitude callouts 1000, 2500 can be turned off in the EFB settings.

Autothrottle calibration and behavior

The A/T was acting a bit crazy in the last version, and the calibration for the different detent positions didn’t always work correctly. These issues have now been fixed. You shouldn't experience any interference with the hardware after startup anymore.

Brake temp simulation

A requested feature was better simulation of the brake temperature. We've now implemented this. The temperature is primarily dependent on the TAT (Total Air Temperature) and also differs between the inner and outer brakes.

Additionally, there are, of course, the usual bug fixes and improvements. You can see the full changelog below. Now we wish you lots of fun with the new version!
