Thank you for your amazing support throughout 2024! Your passion and enthusiasm have made all the difference, and we’re so grateful to have such a fantastic community behind us.

As a big thank-you, we’re excited to release the 2024 Experimental Version of the 727 for MSFS 2024 today. This is our way of showing how much we appreciate everything you’ve done to support us this year.

Boeing 727 MSFS 2024 Experimental Version 🆕

We are excited to announce an experimental version of the 727 for MSFS2024! Unlike the E-Jets, the 727 was developed with a better system structure from the beginning, benefiting from our experiences. While still complex, this approach has made it easier to adapt the 727 to MSFS2024.

Important Notes About the Experimental 727:
• Some features from FS2020 do not work in FS2024.
No support will be offered for the experimental version. FS2024 is changing so often that it would be impossible for our support team to keep up.
• Once FS2024 is stable, and we remove the “experimental” tag, we will offer full support for this version again.

You can get access to the experimental version in the corresponding download channel on our Discord.  You’ll need to install and uninstall it manually, and you use it at your own risk. Remember, we are not providing support right now.

While we currently cannot offer support, we encourage you to share feedback and discuss the 727’s status in the Experimental Talk channel on our Discord.

727 known issues:

- Popup windows not working
- Ground Power not working
- Spawn situations "on GPU" & "on APU" not working
- GNS-XLS not working
- Some lights brighter than usual
- Some displays brighter or darker than usual

What about the E-Jets?

The E-Jets are modern, highly automated aircraft that are easy to fly for pilots, but they have complex systems in the background. Our simulation has become incredibly detailed, even without VNAV, making the planes feel realistic but also leading to very complex code.

Unfortunately, FS2024 has presented significant challenges for us. In the alpha version, our add-on barely worked. While the first public release showed improvement, it still wasn’t perfect. We began developing a compatibility version, but a subsequent Microsoft update caused further setbacks, rendering the add-on less functional than before.

This frustrating situation highlights that Asobo is still actively developing FS2024, and the platform remains challenging for developers. For now, we must wait for FS2024 to stabilize before focusing entirely on making the E-Jets compatible. Believe us, this is also frustrating for the whole team. Nevertheless, this has also the advantage to further focus on the VNAV/ LNAV system.
