Community Feedback
Carson - Beta Team
"The biggest thing I really love about this jet is how down-to-earth it is, so to speak. You have manual control of everything. There are no Airbus computers getting in your way. If you want to see what happens when you shut off a fuel valve, the aircraft just do that! It's not like modern aircraft with all their safety features and automation."
Tim - Real Pilot
"This plane is going to be a lot of fun. It's the sweet spot of being classic but modern enough to be enjoyable."
Raed - Content Creator
"My community really loves this plane and all its features. They are very happy and can't wait to fly this bird!"

Frequently Asked Questions
We currently have the following NAV equipment selectable:
- GNS530 by WorkingTitle
- GTN750 by PMS
- GTNXi by TDS
- CIVA INS by FSS
- GNS-XLS by FSS
VNAV: No — on the classic 727-200, vertical navigation as we know it today did not exist. Operations were done with speed hold or vertical speed mode. We have still included a little treat: in our clipboard, you can calculate a descent profile based on a target altitude, similar to the GNS530, and have the autopilot follow it — practically a managed descent mode. Some NAV options like the GTNs and the GNS-XLS also provide advisory VNAV.
Super27 with EFIS: With the Super27 expansion and its optional EFIS package, full VNAV is available — using the GNS-XLS together with the Collins APS-85 autopilot, you get coupled LNAV and VNAV guidance.
Autothrottle: Yes! In fact, there was a retrofit package for the 727 that included an autothrottle. Pan Am had a few aircraft equipped with it. We have implemented this option, and it can be toggled on or off via the clipboard. Nevertheless, it is relatively simple and is usually used only during cruise and descent, but it can also remain active until landing.
Of course, why not? You have so many NAV options to choose from, ranging from classic to modern. Just use whatever you feel most comfortable with. However, keep in mind that the 727 is not as automated as modern airliners. Therefore, you should first familiarize yourself thoroughly with the aircraft and ensure that you can follow the rules of the respective online network. We suggest to use the GNS-XLS as nav option which gives you advanced features like TOD calculation and holdings.

Features
The cockpit and exterior are where you spend every flight — so the visual foundation has to hold up in close-up inspection as well as from the ramp. The 3D model and textures were created based on extensive reference material. This includes taking advantage of native technologies such as detail decals, PBR texturing and performance optimization. In addition, a large number of animations were added - above and beyond the usual. For example, the cockpit windows and door can be opened and much more. Last but not least, there is an individual night lighting with a variety of light sources, which creates the right mood even in the dark.
- Precise and highly detailed recreation of the B727-200 variants (interior & exterior)
- Including winglet version.
- Detailed cabin with cargo load / passenger seats.
- Using native MSFS technologies like:
- High resolution decals
- Crisp and sharp liveries
- PBR effects throughout
- Custom icing model
- Individual interior and exterior lighting
- Hundreds of animations including wipers, seats, wingflex, etc.
- Ground service docking config
- Dynamic registration number
- Several detailed liveries included based on real world operators
How the aircraft feels on takeoff, in turbulence, and on approach defines whether a sim addon is enjoyable day after day. We have a flight dynamics developer who is, appropriately enough, a pilot himself. Fortunately, we also have very comprehensive data regarding flight dynamics, engine parameters, and general performance data. This has allowed us to achieve very realistic aircraft behavior within the given limitations of Microsoft Flight Simulator.
- Correct weight & balance behavior
- Performance in limits to real world data
- Configured by real world airline pilot
Sound is what makes a classic trijet feel alive — engine roar, system cues, and cabin ambience included. The sound of the 727 is unique. Loud, energetic, and distinctive. We have spent hundreds of hours painstakingly recreating it from the reference materials. The result is true to life and simply enjoyable. You can hear each individual system working.
- Custom soundpack for -200 and Super27 Expansion separately, specifically done for this product
- Individual sounds for each aircraft system
- Includes several warning and alert sounds
The 727 rewards pilots who manage fuel, electrics, and pneumatics with intention — with optional crew assistance when you want help. The 727 is anything but automated. It requires three people to operate the aircraft. We have individually implemented all relevant systems in WASM, creating a very complex addon. But don't worry, we have included numerous features to make operation easier, if you wish. Therefore, even beginners will be able to handle this "beast" well.
It should be mentioned that the cockpit and associated systems of the 727 varied greatly over time. We have extensive documentation of the Pan Am fleet, and it seems that each aircraft had a different configuration. There isn't a single 727 cockpit with a standard set of systems. You will find a variety of different cockpits on the internet. We have initially settled on one configuration, which may be expanded in the future.
- Systems custom coded based on Pan Am aircraft reference
- Electrics (AC/DC)
- APU including realistic procedures
- Hydraulics, Oil & Fuel
- Heating / Ice Protection
- Air Condition / Pneumatics
- Extensive Test Modes
Flight planning, loading, and performance calculations happen before every leg — the clipboard keeps that workflow practical and period-authentic. In the past, before the advent of tablets and smartphones, people relied on pen and paper. We wanted to capture that feeling, so we've included a traditional clipboard. Through this clipboard, you can perform all the necessary settings, load the aircraft, and calculate performance, just like you would with an EFB in other aircraft.
- Flight planning incl. SimBrief import
- Aircraft loading/fueling
- Performance calculation (takeoff & landing)
- Control ground equipment and doors
- Options menu (aircraft settings, NAV equipment, cockpit state loading)
From classic radio nav to modern GPS, your equipment choice shapes every flight — pick the era that fits your route and network. We currently have the following NAV equipment selectable in the clipboard:
- GNS530 by WorkingTitle
- GTN750 by PMS
- GTNXi by TDS
- CIVA INS by FSS
- GNS-XLS (FMC) by FSS
- Classic radio navigation
The SP-150 autopilot and optional autothrottle support the 727 workflow from climb through descent — with Super27 adding full LNAV/VNAV. We're simulating the 722 with the more advanced Sperry SP-150, which offers many more vertical modes. Most 727s were only equipped with the Sperry SP-50, which provided just ALT HOLD and G/S for vertical modes.
- Autopilot Sperry SP-150
- Optional Autothrottle
- Independent Flight Director (not coupled)
- Lateral autopilot modes (TURN KNOB, NAV LOC, HDG SEL, AUX NAV, AUTO G/S)
- Vertical autopilot modes (AUTO G/S, ALT SEL, MACH HOLD, IAS HOLD, VERT SPEED, PITCH HOLD)
- All NAV options coupled to autopilot
The Super27 comes with an optional EFIS and a new Collins APS-85 autopilot system with full LNAV and VNAV capability.
